Nature, Man, a Plan and a Fix

The flowers have struggled this summer.  We are on a Level 2 water advisor due to the low water levels of Catfish Creek.  I only water when I see them droopy.  But the zinna shines through the water, drought, high temperatures and sunny days.

The dark side of the summer. It all began with the soap dish falling off the wall and now the entire shower has been taken down to the studs.

Dank, mouldy, and wet, very very wet!

Improper sealing under and around the window appears to be the major culprit

The beauty that comes into our yard each day still amazes me and brings a smile and at times a tear.  I very much enjoy seeing the flying beauties and the feathery friends in the yard.

The sunflowers have struggled this summer again due to the lack of rain and the beating sun.  They are still adorable.  Last year I had monster sunflowers, this year they have only grown a few feet.  I only have one very tall one in the middle of the garden.

Beginning to play with the concrete medium to create stepping stones.  It is not only useful for the yard, but I love it!  This is one of my biggest rhubarb leaves.  I am leaving the leaf on it to rot off and patina the stone.  I am thinking of entering it in the fall fair here in town.

Jack has not been well the last two weeks.  He is not his personable self, he is distant and not cheery.  As odd as it sounds that a fish is distant and not cheery - trust me when I say that Jack is a social fish and likes to have visitors sit at his tank and keep him company.  He is being treated as is the entire tank for a bacterial infection.  He is back trying to eat a few times a day, so we are hopeful that all will be well soon.  Get well Jack - many love you and are sending you well wishes for you to get better and back to your old self.
