Looking forward to getting the transplants into the garden this weekend. The peas were the first transplants put out into the garden - but put them in a window box climbing up an old window and they are close to blooming which means they have survived the cooler temperatures they are planted near the garage.
This is the sunflower house that I have begun to create. The transplants are about an inch high and seem to be thriving even though it has been very rainy and cooler.
Began the sunflower house last week and will finish planting transplants as soon as the weather shifts.
Whenever I dig, Momma Robin shows up to collect the goodies that have been unearthed.
I puttered about in the garden shed while the rain fell and listened to Enya. I put together a couple glass towers. One is finished, one is just begun.
This one is finished I am waiting on it to dry completely before moving for a finished picture.
Tower two is in the planning process this is the laying out plan. I have changed the bottom anchor and began attaching yesterday.
Towers are a fun way to use up glass bottles, jars, glasses that are chipped or vases that you no longer use but do not want to part with for personal reasons. The only rule is your imagination and trying to keep them from gathering water.
Creating candle holders for the garden area these are free because you have cans at home that you are just going to recycle. Create your own pattern or find one of the many online and off you go. Be sure to put water into the can slowly to freeze as this keeps your can from becoming lopsided when you tap it with the awl and mallet to punch through the tin.
I have several more that I have completed and are hanging outside. You can use old coat hangers to create the hangers/handles and save them from the dump.
I am working on reclaiming a glass globe and turning it into a gazing ball, it is on the dining room table atm being painted. I will post pictures of the process later.
Enjoy the day,
Lady of the Oak
