Sad News

Upon our arrival home yesterday we found one of the three babies on the deck.  We checked closely and lifted up the young Robin but his wing and leg were caught between the deck boards and he was very cold.  Had the weather been warmer he may have survived.  Momma was upset that we picked him up, but we are going to bury him this afternoon.  We have placed a mat under the nest now just in case the fall is not fatal they will not get stuck between the cracks.  Tis a sad note for our little nest of baby Robin's.

On a positive note the baby Mourning Dove is still bobbing about the yard and seems to be improving her flight as she was perched high atop the wrought iron railing late yesterday afternoon.
We are hoping for some warmer weather today and some clearing for the sky.  It will help the babies stay warm and healthy if the weather would shift.
